Hello potential blog followers! My name is Joshua Varkel, and I am studying Anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley. Before you abandon my blog after reading the first couple posts, which might be some what deep and boring, you should know that if you stick with me, I will reveal the secret of why so many people are obese! I will be talking about life before and after the advent of agriculture (the boring background information), and then I will discuss how this transition can explain why so many people nowadays are overweight (the part you actually care about).
There are two reasons I am writing this Blog:
1) Professor Maher requires a blog for my Anth 128 class
2) I want to discover the answer to the ever-important questions of “Are we better off now or before we became sedentary farmers?” and “Is it too late to go back?”
